Conference summary 2025

2nd International Scientific Conference “Contexts of Social Policy and Social Work. Policy – Management – Education”

On 10–11 June 2025 Kraków became the stage for an interdisciplinary debate on the key challenges facing contemporary social policy, social work, management and education. More than 100 participants from Polish and foreign universities, public‐sector bodies and non-governmental organisations met first at the Małopolska Science Centre Cogiteon and then at the Commission of National Education University. Together they discussed future directions for research and practice in the wider field of social policy and social services. Several speakers and attendees joined remotely or followed a live stream of the sessions. The conference’s Main Partner was the Małopolska Region.

The programme featured three plenary sessions, an expert debate and ten parallel thematic panels in which scholars from home and abroad presented their papers. Discussions covered, among other topics, social/societal security, population ageing, the management of institutions—especially educational ones—in the digital era, and innovations in social work.

Conference contributions will be developed into scholarly articles and detailed reports, all earmarked for publication in peer-reviewed journals, ensuring wide access to research findings and practical recommendations.

The event reaffirmed the growing importance of dialogue between academia and practice and the need for regular exchange of experience. The organisers already invite you to future editions and encourage you to follow updates on this website.
